Started out on 1200MK2s back in '83 (I still kick myself for selling them). Switched to Denon CDJs in the early 2000s. Then went all in with Traktor Pro. I went through various controllers, both all-n ones and modular, over the years, but last year went back to Technics. First the MK7s and now the 1210GRs. If I were to go back to being a mobile DJ, I would go with CDJs. But for the home, it's the 1210GRs all the way.

Love the video!! •What controller do you use? •Do you scratch the same way on a controller? •Do you have any videos of you getting down with a controller? Love this channel! Happy new year bro, wishing you all the blessings! 🙏🏽

My man! I have a DDJREV7. And I mostly scratch on it the same way, but of course there are differences cause platter size and angles and stuff. I def have some vids - slide over to the “shorts” on this channel. Half of them should be on the REV7. That being said, I’m actually going to take your questions and make a video out of them because they’re dope questions and a great topic. Cool if I shout you on in the vid when I finish it?

100% that’s the reason why I’m using a Rev7. It was an “easy” transition from turntables to the Rev7. Different in a lot of ways than turntable workflow, but similar enough that the skill translates

I agree with everything you said but, there’s one difference that the DJ controllers don’t have that a traditional turntable does have. I discovered this, unfortunately, when I bought the Newmark Mixtrack Pro. There is a slight delay in the software that doesn’t match up with the turntables, or as they call them today, jog wheels, when doing a spin back or scratching. When spinning the so-called “jog wheels” backwards, there’s a drag in the start up.

Controller for at new DJ/ old DJ @ home or mobile gig = WIN, time space saved no more back breaking stuff, ez clean up. In the video there really isn't a section where you are talking about the upside of turntables so maybe change the title to something with switching from turntables to controllers since clearly it's learning toward controller heavy content. The only argument I have about the turntable upside is, maintenance is low and it's modular. if something happens to the controller unit at a show, your pretty much dead. If one turntable dies, you still can keep going. If you have to upgrade later on you have to get a brand new controller unit as opposed to a mixer. I've had my technics for 20+ years and only had to replace $5 RCA's once. The only thing I've replaced is the mixers, which at this point the S9 still going strong. FIGHT ME!. J/k I have a ddj REV7 and too and Love it. Keep up with the content buddy! Nakturnyl

#ARGUESZN Thanks for checking it out boss! The title for the vid is: Turntables vs DJ Controllers: Which is Best for 2023? This is an opinion video with 3 supporting arguments for my opinion. My argument is that controllers are the move for 2023 for the use cases I explained! So I'm supporting my opinion in the video. The answer to the question in the title is - Which is best for 2023? Answer: CONTROLLER! PUAHAHAHA!!! Btw - lmk if you have any ideas for videos or topics you think would be interesting to you boss. I definitely would love more input or suggestions because I have to make a ton ton ton of videos! HAPPY HOLIDAYS NAK!

That’s a whole vibe right there! Turntables are awesome and dope and the foundation of DJ’ing! That being said, they’re not always the most practical for playing out. However, get some because of you play in a venue that has turntables you wanna be ready for whatever is out in front of you 🙏🏽 Plus it’s just awesome to use turntables

I agree completely, controllers make DJs lazy !!! True DJs play on turntables using DVS or VINAL not saying controllers are bad just that true DJs know how to mix manually and on turntables the original way.

The good news is no one’s gonna ever make you spend any of your money on something you don’t want. Someone that owns both turntables and a controller… the beauty is I can choose, which one makes sense for which situation. Right now I use turntables as my primary set up for studio practice and fun and I use my controller for mobile events.
