if not for the bullshit armor and volumetric nonsense it can do i wouldn't mind it being at 6.3 again. but this is Warthunder and the insane shit this game does because of it is nuts. LOVE bouncing them with my T34 and whatnot. Pure fucking pain watching a 120mm round bounce off the upper plate of one facing one from uphill makes me wanna tear my hair out. but saying that. The russian 85 reminds me of the US 76mm. great at the lower BRs or 5.3 and whatnot. but once you get into the long 88 and 90mm range of cannons. it's not that great anymore and shouldn't be facing the things it will be facing. but again. this is a Gaijin problem that they made themselves.

Usually when doing CQC in this it’s surprisingly easy to bait and bounce shots like Tiger II’s 88mm and T34’s 120mm because of extremely angling the front plate on corners. If you just shoot it anywhere else than that plate or the sides of the turret from the front it will explode violently, I promise. Haven’t had a Russian bias moment in it yet.

they should give the T-44 the BK-367 HEAT-FS shell (it entered service the same time as the BR-367 and BR-367P (the best APHE and APCR the T-44 currently has), there is also BK-367M introduced 2 years later. these HEAT-FS shells with 230mm and 350mm of penetration respectifully (And 550m/s velocity). even BK-367M would argubely still be worse than other 6.7 guns due to its low velocity. edit: not to be confused with the later HEAT-FS given to the T-44MS the 3BK2 and 3BK2M shells. these were developed from BK-367 and BK-367M to be higher velocity (850m/s), better fuzes and simpler production and entered service in the early 60s.

T-44 at 6.3 is blatantly overpowered though. However 7.0 has a better T-44-100 so at 6.7 the T-44 feels useless Its really difficult tbh

@@aircraftnut15 no, effective armour on a heavy isnt op, on a mobile medium is can be and on a light it 100% is overpowered. if youre fast enough and can turn fast enough the t44 can bounce pretty much everything but a few guns it can see with ease. and while the turret is easier to pen, still a bitch. in fact the ONLY downside of the t44 is its gun. is the t44 has the german 75L70 it would be 100% justified at 6.7

I hated seeing the T-44 when I was at 5.3 USA. It was literally impenetrable from the front way back then. Everything bounced, even the tracks and barrel took more than 1 shot to disable. Of course, once I got to the better guns of 6.0+, the T-44 became easy food.

This tank together with the is-2 1944, pershing, ferdinand and tiger 2p should all be returned to 6.3 immediately. They are not nearly equal to the beasts of 6.7 like the US heavies and light tanks and King tiger. Unfair matches every game

Love that thing, its fairly mobile, low profile and cannon has great angle pen. Such a lovely time bullying clueless tigers. On paper that thing looks like a piece of shit for 6.7 tho lol. Also I'd suggest sticking to BR-365, better anglepen and great explosive filler.

This was my worsed performing vehicle in WT apparently, when I looked at Kills/Deaths ratio this is the only vehicle with below 1.0 KD, its like 0.5 I think. So 2 deaths for every kill.

Well this front plate is BS as hell , this stops even a 128mm . Why building an IS3 with pike nose , if a stupid 75 to 90mm plate can stop all rounds ? And let's not forget that volumetric hell of a turret face , I would use a Panther F with the 900hp engine all day long at 6.7 . Mediums shouldn't pen heavys from the front .

@shanenonwolfe4109 indeed, it directly led to the t54 and the corresponding series of Russian tanks leading up to the modern-day but it was designed and fielded just at the end of the second ww2 as you said and essential sports a t34-85 turret... For such an obscure vehicle it really was the lynch pin in design from old to new and I find that it dosent get the credit it deserves plus its just bad ass 😛

Any tank that have 120mm pen could one shot t44. He couldn't survive at 4.7 for long but rated as 6.7. Very fair and balanced battle rating.
