I live in phoenix and I should get a cyber truck in two months. I’m scared what if no one want to rent mine and I’m stuck with a payment.

With instant booking does that nit eliminate everyone that wants to do this on the side, using their own car but wanting to rent it out here and there? Seems only dedicated always ready rental cars are the only possible options available to hosts now? Or what am I missing. I stopped with my Teslas in 22 about. Day rates are just too low to bother with the turn over hassle for 2 to 3 days a time.

This is a great point! While techinically anyone who wants to do this on the side can still block out days and adjust advanced notice settings I think the reality is that those cars wont rank at all in the algo so yes effectively eliminating part time hosts.

Wanted to know how you offset or manage high mileage on your new leased vehicles? I do like the perks of leasing, but the high mileage is my concern.

you do have to know roughly on average how many miles the car will do in 1 year and then go for a high mileage lease. For ex. I typically will do a 12-15K per year mile lease and then if I estimate that I might go over by 3000 miles I factor that into my cost. Mileage overage fees are typically .25/mile which would mean $750 bill at the end of a lease term. I usually will set aside some money each month to account for that.

@saimahsexperience If you have a higher-end or luxury/sports vehicle how can you properly vet your customers!? Without 'mandatory instant booking' you could refuse to rent someone who lacked any Turo rental history or questionable background prior to giving them your say $100,000 Porsche 911 or Mercedes G wagon... what now!? :/

Are you out of the business? I remember seeing several cars on your profile, but now there's nothing there.

How does a host refuse a guest? Contact Turo support? I had a guest damage our car and refuse to pay for it. He had zero deductible Turo protection which enables him to damage cars thereby screwing the host. This Turo is very anti-host. And Turo won’t pay for my damage. Anyway, I want to be able to refuse to rent to that vile guest in the future.

I think you can cancel on this particular guest you have the bad history with and let Turo know about it. But I think it will impact your metrics.

It shows in order for the host to be protected they must choose the 60% plan and give up 40% of the revenue. And the customer just has to get the no deductible protection plan with Turo and they may totally destroy your vehicle and not pay for it.

Great video. I’m a host in the U.K. based around London Instant bookings is also now in the U.K. Hosting teams is something I wish to indulge into however the person(s) I bring on board must come with the same enthusiasm and energy to ensure the same experience is being provided. Insurance for the team is also something worth discussing as this in the U.K. would be seen as an additional cost. Currently have a Porsche 911 C2S and Audi avant S4. I wish to expand my fleet but have been reluctant to do so due to not having a functioning team at this present time. I would love to discuss topics further with you and potentially join a live or chat. Please feel free to contact me and discuss. Thanks Tito
