I’d never seen Royston at that grade. And the Indian Mountain “pendant” on the heishi is sublime. Indian Mountain is mysterious and hard to find. I never meet someone with more than one or two cabs - the collectors are out there indeed but are hard to locate online. One thing that is tricky about being somewhere like the northeast, one would love to buy turquoise in-person! Buying online is a surprise each time I open the package and see my rough or cabs. Is it going to be better, deeper, more attractive in color in person? Or did it look better online? Are there hairline fractures and will the seller accept a refund or trade in for another stone? All things about the business. But it’s like collecting rare anything. Numismatics, watches, vintage Stratocasters….

I got a taste of this when I was into coin-collecting. You get a rare Kennedy, a Walking Liberty, a Standing Liberty and a Morgan… whelp has it been cleaned? Same thing with turquoise - is it natural? It’s a similar ish art

What kind of turquoise is your pendant. I have one that looks exactly like it but I’m unsure of its identification.

Id love some help identifying the turquoise in a bolo tie I just got from a garage same. It came in a box and has the original paperwork with it. Love to send you some pics with its clues to see if we can identify it's origins! Thanks for the cool videos!

The most common question regarding turquoise is for help with identification. Except for the highest grade from the most well known mines turquoise identification is mostly a guessing game. Those who act most certain with their ability to identify are often the most unreliable and those most qualified are not inclined to guess. If you know the artist you may want to check with him/her. If it is vintage knowing the time period may help in knowing what turquoise was available. I am helpful with the history but not so much on identification.

The piece is said to be Zuni and it looks the part with some of the inlay work. It also has Sunburst stamped on the back and another letter lol symbol. Was hoping to understand more about the history of the piece.
