my man really gotta learn the value of early Kingdra which you can get before Brawly. combine with Heart Scale to get it Flip Turn and it is BUSTED for earlygame and remains amazing utility all game. my shit IV shit nature Kingdra has been carrying the entire run for attempt 2 till Wattson as of now

It's one thing to reset early game you've already gone through 50 or so attempts, but he's still in his 5th. He's still at the point where gaining knowledge about the viability of each encounter, strats for hard fights, deeper understanding of the ai (the fake out shield dust thing, for example), etc is more useful than getting a good run going without having much experience with the game.

I think it is a bit of both. Losing run 2 and the shield dust fake-out were kinda brutal and encounters haven't been too good so he is being a bit reckless and notably has to play more recklessly since his answers arn't as clean.
