Loved that you helped the turtle. I don't agree with that "just film nature and never interfere thing" because, humans have already impacted on nature in massive ways... for the negative. Helping out here and there is not shifting any natural balance.
@lnk350314 күн бұрын
Helping is part of nature, and always has been. Animals can be observed helping each other. SOME humans have always been stewards, it's a personality thing, not a race thing. gardener mentality, and nurture, and conservation, is a part of the nature of most humans. We tend to focus too much on the elite, and that's where cynicism comes from.

Generally when you find sea turtles resting on land just above the water line during the day it can indicate a couple of things ...... either they are in the process of selecting a nesting site or more likely they are females trying to rest and avoid getting mugged/rapped by over attentive males who just want a good time. Swimming female turtles are relentlessly chased and then mounted by one or more (at the same time). The males grip onto the back of the females and attempt to mate with the females trying to stay attached as long as they can........the female turtle is forced to copulate and carry the male turtle around the male does not contribute at all to the swimming effort. This can exhaust the female turtles so much that they try and avoid this attention by resting on the beach.Mature male turtles can be easily identified by their long tail (20 cm +), female turtle tails barely protrude from under their shell (~10 cm) Always best to try not to disturb turtles on the beach.....Mating season coincides with nesting season.......of course upside down turtles are in need of assistance

Hey Jack and Fran, I'm a big fan of yours and love seeing all your adventures. I feel bad to see all your attempts to catch a Mantis Shrimp end in failure. They're becoming the Road Runner to your Wyle E. Coyote! 😉 If you search YT or online, people catch clams, and yes, Shrimp using a suction tool that you put over the holes they make in the sand and literally suck them out! Give it a try and perhaps we will see you cook up a massive feed of Mantis Shrimp on the barbie. Cheers mate! Beep, beep!!
