When I connect the battery - the fan turns on regardless of temperature
@pearsth2 жыл бұрын
Be warned. I have this kit and in my experience it can drain your battery. I keep a battery tender on to avoid this, but I believe it killed my OEM KTM battery. Why? Because I have two 2020 KTM's (250 XC, 300 XCW, both TPI with lithium batteries). One had this on, one an OEM kit. OEM kit one was fine, this one, dead battery a few months after install while sitting in storage - both bikes in same storage location exposed to all the same elements and both bikes were bought new within a month of each other and ridden roughly the same hours (only 20-30). The OEM KTM kit on my XCW is simpler and does not use a display. KTM does not make an OEM one that I know of for the XC or I would have gone that direction. After a couple months, the Tusk display had nothing on it and my battery was dead. Replaced battery and all is well again, but I have no doubt it will kill the battery if left alone again.

The solution to this problem is to run a off/on switch off the ground cable that way you control when the fan kick in and when power is sent to it. Hope that helps !

Hi, very dissapointed, temp sensor and a new thermostat/display. Stopped working in my first ride, seems to be a common problem the temp sensor and LCD. Changed the Sensor and nothing happens.

Wonder if this system can be used on my yz250 if I ran it off a good RC car battery?
@justindwyer38324 жыл бұрын
I put a ttr90 battery in my air box on my yz250. Wire the fan to a switch to turn on when you want it. I wired a trickle charger pigtail to battery. I use it for fan and headlight. Ran light for 4 hours and still didn't kill battery. I just plug my bike in when its sitting in garage

I recently bought this fan kit for my 22 KTM 350 XC-f (FE), part number 1919450001. Seems pretty straight forward, but (you knew there was a but coming didn't you lol) I can't find the four T-25 torx head screws. I've looked through out the large box, moved all the styrofoam, looked in the thermostat box, no luck can't seem to find them. Can I get the specs (thread and length) for the screws so that I can pick some replacements at my local hardware store. Thanks for your time.
@rmatvmcАй бұрын
They are #10-24 x 3/8 Torx screws. Apologies they didn't come with your kit. If you want to contact our warranty department they can send you the screws needed as well. Warranty@rockymountainatv.com

This fan is meant to suck air thru the radiator, or push air to the radiator fan? Maybe ididnt see correct but you put the fan behind the radiator (looking the bike from the front) This will push air to the front of the bike, or suck air from the front of the bike to the rear of the bike?
@rmatvmc4 жыл бұрын
This fan is designed to mount behind the radiator and pull air through the radiator. Hope that helps!

I bought a fan for my 2021 te 300 that I'm planning to install a radiator fan. Tusk from RM atv's. do guys know If i have to buy a relay or something that will not drain my battery? This is the first time I've installed a fan. I have no idea how much battery it uses. Is there anyone here who has installed one before? Can you give me ideas or recommendations? I did a search and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance for your help with this
@rmatvmc3 жыл бұрын
The thermostat has it's own battery that will power it when the bike is off. The fan will only use battery when the bike is running and the fan is needed. So no, you don't need a relay.

Unfortunately, we do not sell a radiator fan that is an exact fit for the 390 Duke. But we do have a Tusk universal radiator fan kit that may work for your bike if you have the room. You can check out that fan kit here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-digital-radiator-fan-kit-universal-p

Does the Thermostat always remain on - showing the temp?
@rmatvmc5 жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as your battery is connected and you don't have blown fuse, the temp will be displayed even with the bike off. Thanks.
