The first clothespin patented was in 1853 by a Vermont inventor named David Smith. I am forever in his debt. :-)
Right at the top of my favorite things list with buttons and mason jars are clothespins. I use them all throughout my house but these are my most obvious uses for them in my craftroom.
Clothespin Journal Cards, a digital download set in Mrs. Cog's Etsy: www.etsy.com/l...

I remember when this type of clothespin became available...was sooo much better than the older one piece pins/pegs. I loved putting the wash on the line for Mom - as soon as I was tall enough to reach out the window. Smiles, Carol

I take the plain stubby clothespins, put my piano students first name (2 or 3 clothesline per student) and use them to "mark" materials I buy for them, or the students enjoy using them to hold open their pages of what they are playing, preventing the pages from closing while playing. Thanks for your good ideas. My favourite ideas are adding stamped designs or washi tape.

Wonderful, fun, and useful ideas for using & decorating clothespins. The stamped ones are way cool. ... I wish I could find the nice ones like they used to sell. Those were constructed with nice strong metal pieces and hard wood. I have a few left from the early 80’s and they are so much better (and a bit bigger) than the modern ones.

Another great video giving tips that make crafting easier thank you for sharing! I still corral my papers with clothespins! It makes staying organized so much easier - paper is almost the messiest component in my Nook - lace can get out of hand too but clothespins keep it all together and neat. :) Laura

I am really enjoying these tutorials of how you use supplies, the bead one was great, and this one is too! i don't know what i would do without clothespins! i have to get some of the ribbon you used at the end for decorating-it looks amazing! i use to paint them with acrylic paints, then i "got wise" and started using Sharpies. I might color the entire c. pin with one color then add stripes, polka dots etc. works great. I also like your idea using the yardstick-lots of possibilities using that. Great tips and ideas as always Mrs Cog, thanks so much for sharing. OH! i saw the journal cards in your shop!! I LOVE those and will be ordering soon!
