Thank you so much for the class. It was the only one that solved my case. It wasn't easy to learn this, because anyone who wants to have the perfect fit for text transitions has to follow the teacher's advice to the letter. Pay attention to the size of the text when the block is leaving and at the end adjust the speed of the transition by increasing or decreasing the track. I was almost giving up, it was hours of trying, because I don't speak English. I had to use i translator.

Yes. It's a little difficult to work everything out to get the result you want. As you've found out, the size of the text, how long the text string is and what is an ideal reading speed, all determine the length of the event. I'm glad you achieved it.

Hi, you're welcome. I understand your frustration about Vegas. But in its defense, Vegas Pro isn't a consumer NLE like Movie Maker. There are tons more features in Vegas Pro that allow professionals to performs all sorts of different things. As a consequence, the learning curve is rather steep.

This seems more like a workaround than explaining how it works. This method involves animated panning over a long single line of text. The speed is controlled by positioning the keyframe diamonds. The keyframe diamonds are greatly influenced by the length of the event, so expect things to change if you move the event's beginning or end.

You're correct. This is a workaround, but only because Vegas Pro's native Titles and Text media generator is limited in its capabilities. It has a 'scroll left' preset, but you have no control of the speed (unless you Ctrl+drag the event end out). Increasing the length of the event doesn't slow it down, it just makes more iteratarions of the scroll. The deprecated Pro Type Titler is more powerful, but has a steep learning curve. You say that I don't explain how it works. It was a short tutorial demonstrating how it could be done relatively easily. It was never intended to explain how keyframing works. I have produced many tutorials on the concept of keyframing which I published after this tutorial. Thank you for your comment.

i spent an hour yesterday trying to do this. i thought it would be easy. it seemed to have a fixed length for the animation though. i couldnt put keyframes in as late as i wanted so the text would scroll too fast, and repeat itself. bloody annoying. I'd better watch this video now to see what i was doing wrong. its weird though, im sure i have done this before the same way and it worked fine.

9:30 'match event length' icon in the media generator will fix the limited length/ looping when extending length issue i was talkiing about. yay. thank you for this.

@@socks2441 Glad you sorted it. Loop points can result in odd effects when you're key-framing. It's always best to match event length, even if you're not key-framing.

Hi Robert. It looks as if you misunderstand the phrase 'Sync Cursor to Media Timeline'. I don't blame you, because the phrase implies that the keyframe controller cursor will always move in unison with the timeline cursor. This isn't the case. The phrase simply means that, if you place the timeline cursor at a specific location, the keyframe controller cursor will immediately move to the equivalent location on the keyframe controller timeline, and vice versa. You'll notice that, if you play the timeline then stop, the keyframe controller cursor will move to the equivalent position on the keyframe controller timeline. You'll also notice that if you drag the keyframe controller cursor, the timeline cursor follows it, and vice versa. I hope I've explained that adequately.

@@tvsognefjord Tore, the opening sequence wasn't created live. It was created post production. Vegas Pro is post production software and not designed for live streaming. I'm sorry, but if I understand your needs correctly, unfortunately I can't help you.
