Small correction about Sub Test executions. These don't sit under a test, but under the requirement itself, making them available to show on the Agile board that the requirement belongs to. This also allows changing the workflow for the requirement's issue type, e.g. to enforce that the Sub Test Execution must be closed before the requirement itself can also be closed.

this is for Classic (Company Managed Project) only. These steps do not work for Team Managed Project.

If in Case you accidently closed the window to add issue type please follow the steps ​Follow the path - Project Settings -> Apps -> Xray Settings -> Summary -> Add Issue Type Pause at 7:00 to see the steps

An add information: To add issue type manually, plz follow this path : Project settings > Issue type > Add issue type [But Before that you have to dowload the pictures of every issue tyep : 1/ click on "Apps" in the Menu-Bar > Xray > "configure a project" > scroll down until you find the icons/pictures of issue type and download them] > Enter a name of your issue "Test" (Eg.) > Click on change icon > download the pic of that type of issue ("Test") > Select > Create. Then click agian on Add issue type > and follow the same path for the rest of issue :"Test Set", "Test Plan", "Test Execution", and "Precondition". Then : click on "Project settings" > Xray settings > Issue Types Mapping, and selecting the corresponding issue types > Save. Then, click again on "Xray settings" > Test coverage > define the Covered Issue Types (i.e., the testable entities such as the typical requirements, user stories, epics). Drag the ones you want from the Available Issue Types column (e.g., Epic, Story) to the Covered Issue Types column > Save. Then, click on "Defect Mapping" > define the Covered Issue Types (i.e., the testable entities). Drag the ones you want from the Available Issue Types column (e.g., Story, Epic) to the Defect Issue Types > Save. Finally, it will be shown, "Tesing Board" like in this video. Best of Luck.

Hello thank you for your explanation, I have misconfigured Xray, then how to reconfigure it again because for ''the type of Xray request in the project'' I can't change it anymore so I don't have the buttons Test, Test set and all the rest. thanks

Go to Apps, Select Xray and then click on configure Xray.. Add the issue types.

Hi, Do you have a copy of the sample project that you use in the videos? Have you shared that anywhere? It might be that Jira needs to have a project established first so that X-ray tagging happens. I see many below commenting on not getting the pop-up or the option to configure, It's the same with me. It could be because our Jira is empty and does not have any projects with all the aspects filled in?

Hi Francis, This is not in regards to creating a project. Xray should still prompt you to configure a project. Moreover, the projects are part of instance and that can't be accessible separately. Please follow the steps. If required create a project first and then configure again.

Here ypu are configure Xray on Kanban board, we can't configure it on SCRUM boar, can you write or shere video with Configure Xray in Jira with SCRUM board?

I don't get the little pop-up offering to add the issue types. I did it a couple of times. No opportunity came up. I had a similar problem with Zephyr. I never was able to get a test case option. For some reason, even after selecting a project, I can't get the option for issue types. I get every pop up except for that one.

First of all when you are using Xray check if your browser is blocking any access. Allow it. If not then try one more time for Xray Navigate to Project -> Project Settings -> Apps -> Xray Settings -> Summary You should see the little pop-up to add issue types. Let me know for any further help

In order to configure Xray issue types with a project, you must know if you are in a team-managed project or in a company-managed project.

Not sure. This might be exactly a HICCUP, try closing all your open sessions and browser and try again. Or give it try in the incognito mode.
