Man on Man! I was researching what was going on with my 2008 Scion xB, and thankfully I have a little code reader that indicated Misfire on 4. My heart sank as I was thinking to myself, "How in the hell am I going to afford this?" But after watching this video, I feel confident in performing this task! Thanks! Keep posting!

From what I've heard you're not supposed to drop the spark plugs into the hole because it MIGHT mess up the gapping on the spark plugs. Thanks for the video very helpful.

Thanks for posting this! These plugs are easy to change compared to some other cars. Now I need to buy some magnet pickup tool and get this job done.
@SergeyPip2 жыл бұрын
You can also get some spark plug sockets, they are fairly inexpensive and work better than a magnet! Thank you for watching!
@bryanmoore20444 жыл бұрын
There are sockets that have rubber fitting inside specifically for holding a spark plug, will withdraw the plug without needing a separate step with magnet, and may also prevent misthreading by keeping the plug straight going in. A "sign of misthreading" would be if you only turned it 1/4 to 3/4 turn and it's stiff.
@SergeyPip4 жыл бұрын
That's the socket I have, but the rubber piece inside fell out. So now it's a regular socket.

I'm looking at coils for my 2011 xb. There seems to be two lengths, a 98mm and a 108mm. Will either one be fine or do I need a certain one? The site says they both fit, and the toyota parts website doesn't list the length of the one they sell for my car. thanks

When you replace spark plugs or/and ignition coils you should clear the engine codes with a scanner, or disconnect the battery for half an hour or so to clear the codes.
