In general, great series, good tempo :) Just some nitpicks: Do not use print, use debug instead. The larger the project grows, the harder it is do find what is spamming in to textport. Debug gives you some additional information, mainly what triggered the debug. No need for global. You only need the global when you want to set the value of a variable from inside the function. Reading works just finde without it. Little thing, but up to you, do not use abbreviated variable-names. In this small context it might still be clear what ws means, but this gets complicated quickly. There is nothing worse then havving to research/guess what a variable is actiually reffering to. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! Good call on using debug, I don't use it often enough. Also good catch with global, I've been using it in more cases than I need to. I generally try to be extra verbose with variable names, especially teaching intro to code. Do you have any fav resources on best coding practices in TD?

Great series so far, my TD isn’t receiving a ping after connecting so I’m pretty sure something is going wrong. In fact nothing appears to relaly happen when I make the socket active. Any help would be greatly appreaciated

We're you able to test that your socket server was working with Sock King? And nothing is printing when you toggle the active on and off on the WebSocket DAT even though there are print statements in onConnect and onDisconnect?

@@blankensmithing I was able to test with SocketKing yes that was all working., nothing is printing, even the print statements. It's as if the nothing is getting in and out of TD

@@astanakazakfstan7061 On both macosx and windows the websocket node only works on version 2021.16410 for me. Newer versions do not work.
