I use clips to secure the new bellowstrips, works very good and your hands are free. Good videos, thank you Tom.

Thanks so much for the demo - my honer regina 1941 bellows getting very worn found a tape supplier in falkirk scotland so will work out how much I need and get it ordered

Awesome, good luck!

You should replace complete tape not just patch! And wood glue is not use for this. It will be hard to take down and you will damage bellows if you ever need to replace tape again.

Do you have a link to instructions that show how to do this please?

hi Tom , im trying to buy new bellows for an old accordion i have but i have no clue how to measure them . Am i supposed to measure the wood frame that is attached to the bellows when you remove them or the bellow itself to where the corner protectors are ? I'm going to try and fix an old santa marsala three register accordion that i found at a local shop .
@TomsMusicShop3 жыл бұрын
Hey there Niner! I’d measure the wood frame, yes. Can you find another bellows from the same model, and sell the rest as parts?

Any tape that you would recommend?

You can buy bellows tape on eBay or directly at Hohner.

Hey Tom, I have an old Johann Mikl button accordion. I have no nearby shops that can tune or fix dead reeds. Do you accept repairs?

Hey Deke, thanks for your comment. Where are you located?

@@TomsMusicShop I'm in East Central Florida. Vero Beach.

Hey Deke, well I am in Germany so that unfortunately will not work. But I have sold numerous accordions to Florida. There must be some shops somewhere. I know a very good repair shop in Texas if you’re willing to ship.
@DekeBlue3 жыл бұрын
@@TomsMusicShop I would be interested in the Texas shop if you don't mind passing on the recommendation. I don't know why but I had in my head you were located in the US.

@TomsMusicShop2 жыл бұрын
Oh the extremes are nice! I have to be honest that I’ve never made a design before. I suppose you’d have to remove the current bellows strips first. Let me know what you come up with!
@CarlosDelaoGunEngraver2 жыл бұрын
@@TomsMusicShop I don't think you remove it, its small strips placed on top of the current ones, for aesthetics only
@TomsMusicShop2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that is a bit problematic, because then the ribs will get too thick, and you won't be able to close the bellows straps.

better to replace the whole tape but thats just me…
@reginacheong70072 жыл бұрын
I just learned the extra thickness may not allow for your bellow straps to close well or at all…so see first before applying glue if you don’t completely strip off the whole tape, if that’s the way to repair the bellows, maybe it depends how damaged the accordion is? I do love this KZbin though-Thank You Tom’s Music Shop, I am trying to pick up tips before deciding to repair my bellows or leave it alone as it isn’t so bad yet there are signs of wear, at the top, back side of the bellows, probably from buttons or straps and years of playing…Thank You!

Do you mean patching, rather than removing the whole strip and replacing with a new one? Do you have a video of a better way? If so, please share.
