Sir, I am interested in knowing a bit more about the super wide angle lens adapter from Altura. Can you please inform me about how much do we lose in terms of image sharpness and quality and about how much F stops does it alter? I have a 50 mm F/1.8 Nikkor lens and want to use this Altura wide angle + macro adapter. With that thing on I don't presume I can still get as low as F/1.8 . I can live with a total decrease of 1 F stop so that I can have F/2.8 equivalent. Again please enlighten me about how much sharpness and image quality do I lose using this?

Hi Mainakh, you will lose around 1 stop of light when using the lens, also you will lose a bit of the sharpness, mostly around the corners, the center of the photo should stay sharp.

With the 0.43 adapter, at the widest setting on the lens, will you see the inside of the barrel like with the .35 adapter?

Hello Mac Doodles. It really depends on what lens you will using this adapter with. For instance, If you attach the .43x to an 18-5mm lens (a standard kit lens for most crop sensor cameras), you will see the inside barrel when the lens is positioned at 18mm. This will change once you zoom in to the 24-35mm range.

You're welcome Mac Doodles. Typically when you adapt lenses to the front you lose a small amount of light. I would also recommend setting the AF point to the central area for focus.

Yes, you can use it on any camera that has a thread size. Just make sure you check your lens' thread size to make sure you get the right one.

I have purchased it for 18-140mm nikon lens. While using wide angle i see blurry black corners. While using 2.2x telephoto lens I see round circles. Is there any way to remove it.

Hi Amit! Try using the your main lens at a max focal length between 55mm - 70mm. Since at 140mm your lens is considered a telephoto and won't have any improvement with these lens extensions. Also make sure your lens is on Manual focus. ;)
