farm works best in 1.8 and below. translocation in 1.9/1.10 is an issue, but it works again in 1.11+

It's a 1-tick piston clock with proper timings for the piston and dispensers. But you can easily make a much better design tbh, with shulker boxes for bonemeal and cocoa, as well as observers for the clock.

Works perfectly well in 1.21, i just had to put the repeater on 4 ticks ( I'm playing on a server). PS: Don't forget to put the comparator on negative mode!

I really dont know why dispensers can place shulker boxes but cant plant crops. From a technical standpoint i understand, shulker boxes are essentially entities meaning the item is basically a spawn egg, but from a consistency standpoint, its more reasonable for a dispenser to be able to plant crops than to place a huge block as big as itself.

@@syncRamon hey, i know its been 5 yrs but if you or anyone else is reading, the answer to the first question is yes, just align hopper monecarts so they are 1 block apart and in between 2 blocks each, put 2 hoppers bellow each of them and a double chest above in between the two hopper minecarts, connect 2 of the hoppers to one dropper and the other 2 to another, so you can empty it at 4x hopper speed, and fill each dropper at 2x hopper speed The answer to the other quesrion is: the difference between v and o is the the v/square symbolizes the dropper, and the o the dispenser, the difference between the two is that a dropper can only drop/transfer items, whereas the dispenser can use them, such as water buckets, shears and arrows

Jorden Darrett it took me a few weeks to figure it out. But I'm still learning new things. I'm not good with command blocks. I can do basic things with scoreboards. Since I'm only interested in survival, there's no need for me to get better with command blocks.

Rainer-Wilfried Kasuppke did you put an equal amount of bone meal in each dispencer? It doesn't work with 1. Also you may wanna check if the repeater is set at 2 ticks

Phew...mkay, I HAD it filled up, now I checked the repeater, it was set to one Tick first, now it's adjusted, but the piston just moves once when you turn it on, then it stops immediately.

Rainer-Wilfried Kasuppke ah, yeah that happens sometimes. the problem lies with the back pistons not updating properly. you can easily fix that by hooking up another regular piston facing down to the clock so it provides more block updates

i think ive made the same result with 7 redstone dust and 2 torches.. i saw in the comments that ilmango used 0 tickspeed for the piston because of worry that it would block the player from placing the cocoa. i dont have any problems with placing on mine. also timing mine came out to be 829/min

think before you write. At 20 tps you can place an item every 0.2 seconds, that's 300 per minute. Per harvested cocoa bean you make a profit of 2 cocoa beans, which equals 600 per minute. I assume you tested in creative, where the maximum return would be 900 cocoa beans per minute, because you don't need to invest anything. That's a clear indicator, that your farm isn't 100% efficient.

Davo McMahon np. sorry for the rude answer. sometimes my temper gets the best of me. To clear it up, using a conventional 4gt clock (2gt on/2gt off) is also an option, but has the slight disadvantage that the piston hitbox obstructs planting attempts for one more game tick. That's why I preferred the 0-ticks. It also yielded slightly better results during my tests. I'll also show an updated version of this farm soon.

no worries! im still learning most of the in depth mechanics (ie the rate of planting/sec) so i assuming that i had messed something up anyway haha. i was wondering whether not using the 0 tick clock would cause obstuction to planting rate, was just confused more than anything when the results came out at 800 cocoa. im keen for the new version too. i love watching your videos just to learn these slight mechanics i hadnt thought of like this. yes it does, but it has some problems now. Cocoa beans might get translocated by the pistons and land below. You would need to a seperate collection system for the one that land at the bottom
