Please tell me you did not take out the whole assembly just to switch out a bulb and in doing so why not include where to take the mounting brackets off and all that other stuff😅😅😅😅

Some cars it is quicker and easier to remove the whole assembly instead of struggling with weird angles and obstructions. Not sure if this is the case for the B7 but I’ll be finding out tomorrow 😅

You probably already figured it out, but I would imagine he did that to make it easier for us to view. I don't think you have to remove the whole housing unless you want to.

I have 2016 bluemotion and there is not that much space behind headlight unit. There ismaybe 2cm. No way can get my fingers in. Can anyone suggest? Come up through the wheel arch?

He only took the headlight out so that he could make a proper video. That said, the 2015 Passat that I just changed the low beam on had a soft rubber plug rather than the hard plastic Twist Off retainer. Inside there was a white plastic bulb holder which had to be twisted counterclockwise to remove the holder and bulb assembly

orange ones are running day lights, high beams are the ones closer to the middle of the car and low beams are the ones closer to the edge of that makes sense.
