Another few tips that might help improve rate chances for non-demons (I didn't include as some are not confirmed and rely more on speculation): • Robtop once shared on a live stream that he prefers levels with songs that haven't been used on many rated levels already, so he sometimes only checks sent levels with unique songs. So using an obscure newgrounds song might help improve your rate chances! But keep in mind that this was a few years ago so it might not be the case anymore. • If your level didn't get rated after months despite getting feature sends from mods, you can try deleting the level and reuploading it. Rob tends to pick recently uploaded levels when rating, so it can help improve the rate chances (and has worked in many cases). But be cautious because reuploading the level means you will lose all the mod sends. • Most rated levels are either hard or harder difficulty, so aiming for these difficulties might increase your rate chances.

@@David-mq9dw No levels can't get 10* demon from community voting, unrated levels can only be at insane face maximum. A mod finds an unrated level that has requested difficulty of 10 stars and puts it in the voting system. If it passes the vote then robtop will turn it into a rated demon. The vote result can either be rejected, star rate, feature or epic.

I really love the advice that is being given here, especially how when you mentioned to let the persons mind run wild, that really feels motivational and inspirational to hear from you, currently i havent really touched the editor for a long time, but i know that someday i really want to finish a level so i can hopefully geton to building something with a higher standard, and one thing i struggle with when building is that sometmies i may feel uncomfortable or a little annoyed because when i sometimes try my most best, it doesnt end up well as palnned honestly. buti know ifi could get something finished and posted out there, it would be a relief and iwould feel a little happier to get something out there, well hopefully i do though. I like how this tutorial actually talks about how to make a “good” level other than just saying “have good decoration and block design” like most tutorials do (that was exactly what I was expecting in this since almost every tutorial I’ve seen talks about decoration). Most decorated levels these days are honestly not as good as others because it’s nothing really new but it’s the same concept. A level with decorations with nothing really engaging other than awesome effects and such. The only decorated levels that are actually good and fun to play are levels like “Change of Scene” and “KOCMOC”. I’m not saying levels shouldn’t be decorated (but I’m not saying they should be decorated either), but what I’m really saying is that it shouldn’t be just decoration, but creativity. I’m not saying other tutorials don’t mention creativity, but it feels like most tutorials mainly focus on the looks of a level and decoration instead of what makes it actually “good”. Another tip which kinda worked for me twice: getting sends right after release makes Ur lvl rather appear on top. A lvl which got a feature send after 3 weeks of mine, is still not rated after 3 years! So make a good level getting sent fast and please don't be too hungry of CP. If U get a lot not sends, ask mods for feedback and create a new lvl using Ur received feedback. Stay polite! 😉

My thought about a rated level is: Gameplay 60% and deco 40%. Just to say the fact that if you can't play (for bad gameplay) you can't see how good is it. I think making gameplay is the most easiest part of the building process of the level (in my opinion and speaking for my view). The hardest thing for me (or maybe for many creators) is the professionality to do a specific thing. For example you could have a nice idea to do a specific block, background, animation or even the theme for the level but just think how hard will be the execution, that's the problem. That's one of those thing that divides featured levels from epic featured levels. Anyway creating is not that easy if you think in that way. You have to put lot of effort to stay always here at the top and making good levels

Instead of focusing on level, focus on how you brand it. Make it anime themed generic stuff and then request it in mod's servers with an anime pfp to compel them to send your level even if it looks weird and enjoy. (Joke)

A lot of these loose standards are even looser than you'd imagine. My first rated level was featured and it was a wave spammy, 1.9 editor restrictions, object heavy, 7 star level that is harder on lower refresh rates and mobile. Basically all you have to do is have it sent by mods, because RobTop's standards are a lot lower than the mods' standards. I would also suggest creating for fun rather than just increasing the number of creator points, because that takes a lot of the fun out of creating if you're just going to do it for creator points.

Hey Incidius I see you've been responding to all of the comments, I was wondering you could tell me the status on 2 level in the Demon Voting system. "Boreas" and "Astraea" by DiamondDemon935. We know for a fact that both of the levels have been sent multiple times, yet, for example, Boreas has been out for over half a year and still no rate. If you can tell us any information why it hasn't been rated, that'll be much appreciated. (My best friend (diamonddemon935) has been trying to get a rated level for over 8 years) Ex: "It didn't get 10 votes for rate." Not enough mods voted for it. Mods Voted no. I just wish we at the very least got an explanation on why it still not rated yet. :(

Well you can request it on level request streams (including non-mod ones), you can ask friends to play it or you can advertise it on places that allow it (e.g. discord ads channels)

No rules about where the song starts but it is best if you make sure the song is long enough for the level (otherwise there will be silence at the end), and that you should try to end the level at a fitting point of the song (ideally not at the drop and not at a random point)

Mods are allowed to tell you if a specific level is in the demon voting system or not when you ask them. No you can request to mods in discord servers too
