Love the tip using the tyre for support Jack , my little tip is cut a square of plywood a few mils bigger on all 4 sides than the actual column it is to sit upon , then set it flush down on the wet surface ( may need a weight to keep it from rising ) , prise it out when concrete is set .....Now the cap will seat snuggly on top of your column .

Good work Sir. Nice job. You may in the future add some wire before the pour to provide extra strength to the cap and prevent breakage. Good video. Cheers from Texas!!!

All the PPE at the start gives the impression of being professional then I see you working in a pair of sliders.

Thanks for the demo, very helpful. I'm wondering how effective it would be to fill the air bubble gaps with filled concreate?

Nice job. You might try a directional mic to avoid the mouth breathing of the cameraman. Constructive criticism.

Would it be a good idea to use a bit of metal or mesh in the middle for strength?

Where do you buy the moldings dude.?
@DIYJack2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marco, I got them on ebay. Just search concrete pier cap moulds or pvc moulds. Ukraine war might affect supply. Alternatively you might be able to cast your own moulds off existing pier caps.

Helo Raju my friend from India. I got the moulds from ebay. Just search concrete pier cap moulds or pvc moulds. Ukraine war might affect supply or affected the shop. Alternatively you might be able to cast your own moulds off existing pier caps.

Good job but when your trying to get the air bubbles out don’t smack it hard instead make smaller taps with the hammer but more frequently. Most ppl tend to give it a few good wacks and Un intentionally add more bubbles

No, he sustained extensive injuries on the lava planet known as Mustafar due to losing a fight with a Jedi master. Three of his limbs were severed and he sustained 3rd degree burns to his entire body, including burns in his lungs which necessitate a breathing apparatus. Give him a break. 😋

Hi Eric, thanks for your feedback. I realised this after the video was filmed. Sorry about that. In the future, I have changed to a different cameraman.

I thought it was DIY your using a mold
@DIYJack Жыл бұрын
Haha you got me. Well for me DIY just means you try to do it yourself instead of hiring someone else and save some money. Doesn't mean you have to build and make everything 100% from scratch. For me I think the process I showed in the video is the easy way to make that's all. Just trying to help others out. If you use a hammer 🔨 in a DIY video doesn't mean you have go mine the metal, smelt it to ore and cast to make the hammer from scratch 😉

research correct concrete mixtures for all applications .. this guys use of of non specific ratios of cement to aggerate to water to whatever else he has in the mix makes no sense and will most likely fail in a short period of time. Cement mixes are very specific for different uses.

You need to buy vacuum forming machine to make those molds, I made that machine in the garage myself, and now use it to make molds
