the dots are where your fingers go on a fretboard of a guitar. From left to right it's teh lowest string to the highest. Any numbers in the dots are an indication as to which fingers go there. This definitely wasn't intended as a lesson for beginners who aren't familiar with guitar theory as shown. But I hope this helped you

I agree - cheat by using your fingers - it's a lot easier than using ap ick to make those lines
