it's an aluminum wool needle. search amazon. i file down the tip for better piercing. hope this helps.

Hi, this is the best technique I have seen. have braidlocs and I interloc the new growth. Ican not find that needle anywhere!!! It would be great for repairing parts that are thin or that have holes in the loc. Thank you!!!!

I believe that's sistalocs locking tool. Their whole technique is trademarked and theyre real funny about it. May be why she didn't say what tool it was and gave the disclaimer in the beginning. A bead stick (stick inside box of hair beads) would work just as fine. I cut mine to make it shorter and file the rough ends. Only .99 too! There are ton of other tools u could improvise with. Just google loc tools and different ones will come up even modified versions of this one.
