Either you have an incorrect belt or the clutch is faulty

The screws are MUCH harder going back in than coming out on my Hoover UH30600, the screws are centered, I don't think I stripped the screw holes, but idk 😖🥶

I'm struggling to figure out why the brushrole shut off is not working when I done this and the brushrole keeps spinning when it is in the upright position

Some models don't shut off in the upright position unless you push the pedal

This is exactly why I am struggling in figuring out how to hook the belt directly to the guard. I took every single thing apart to clean it all. Never took it all apart down to only the vacuum motor is the thing not taken apart. I took all the parts outside and hosed them all down, and then let them all air dry out for days on table. Thanks for the info. The part where you put the belt over the metal part, mine don't have. Maybe they broke off without me knowing it?
