Why do aikido hakama have so long himo ? Not like Kendo Jodo or Jodo ?

Someone please can explain me the difference with the hakama pant like "skirt dress no sleeves" and the hakama pant with the two separated sleeves for each legs ? thank you.

The andon bakama (行灯袴, lantern hakama) is the one without leg divide, while the umanori (馬乗り, horse-riding hakama) is the on used for horse riding. guillaumeerard.com/daito-ryu-aiki-jujutsu/articles-daito-ryu-aiki-jujutsu/why-do-yudansha-wear-hakama/

Just finished practice. I tied on my hakama using the method that you taught me, and it was excellent! It was comfortable, and stayed in place very nicely during all of my ukemi! I will be be wearing it this way from now on. I highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you so much!!

Probably yes. Why don’t you ask your teacher? In most schools only black belts wear hakama.
