This will show you how to keep a logo or other graphic above other placeholder objects (like an image placeholder) in powerpoint.

You have nailed it perfectly. For anyone who cannot get it to work for them just watch the video again to get it right. It can accommodate any complexity and any number of layers. I also subscribed to encourage you to get going.

2024 and there is still no option to place the master on top. Am I wrong? To me as a grapic designer, who sometimes has to make templates with corporate design elements for customers in powerpoint, this is just mind-boggling. Master on top should be the default.

Excellent video, It's hard to believe that you actually have to do this workaround in the first place, come on Microsoft get your act together! There's a lot of open source software out there that doesn't have the development budget that Microsoft have that is literally making you look like a dinosaur company. It's like nobody at Microsoft really applies much thought any more to the products. Considering the age of Powerpoint, and that since I was using it in the 90s to make presentations, the extra abilities do not reflect the amount of time that this has had to mature, and simple stuff like placeholders holding their place within the layer stack of the slide master should've been sorted way back.

THANK YOU! I work mainly in Adobe CC, so you can't believe how difficult this apparently simple function was for me to accomplish. I was going down deeper and deeper rabbit holes, watching videos about altering the scripting of Powerpoint, and then I found your video. SO SIMPLE! (Although, why hasn't Microsoft made this one of its default options when positioning graphics?)

@@bypu It looks like you're a gun at PPT. I have to learn it more and more for clients. If you make a master pages/style short course covering technical workarounds to common problems like this I would totally buy it!

This doesnt work for me. Oddly, PPT doesnt allow me to paste an image into a text box - but I know I've easily done this in the past... Is that an update of the latest version of ppt perhaps?

I'm on powerpoint Version 16.43. Perhaps it's the image format you're trying to paste into the text box?

Maybe don't paste an image - set a "background" image to the text box!

I just couldnt get this to work 100% for me, it showed up on 2 slides out of 9 which is odd since all my slides use the same blank layout. I think it might be because i used the "design ideas" tab and that might be messing with the layering? or something, i really dont know

Page numbers should automatically sit above everything else
