Thank you for showing this on the continental style (hold yarn in left hand)... Watching this stitch done by others in traditional style was a bit hard to 'translate' that middle YO in the middle of the MS stitch for me. You made this super easy for me-thank you 😁👍

I am a little confused. On Row 2 (1:17) it looks like you SLIP (as if to knit) the first stitch, rather than knitting it? Am I seeing that correctly? Same thing with the first stitch on Row 3? Thank you so much!

Yes, you aee that correctly, There are several ways to work the edge stich to create a neat edge.

Depending on the edge that you want to make, you can slip stitch the first stitch of each row, and in some tutorial, I always works a purl stitch on the last stitch :)

When knitting the star stitch, are you supose to have the same number of stitches that you started out with? If so how does that work?

The answer to your question is yes, she cast on 26 stitches. on row 1 she stared by knitting all stitches. Row 2 the firs stitches she passed over as if to knit , then she knit it one , then she pearl 3 together then she yarn over then she pearl the same 3 stitches together, by she doing that she created the three stitches that she pearl together .
