Maida, I use 2 and 1/2 times the width of the window and 1 and 1/2 time the drop.

Hello my name is pauline me and my daugther was watching a video with you and your daugther and she like the austrain shade you make but the video was a little bin fast so she me and her did how to space the tape and how to get the fabrice we need i can sew and she never want to sew with me till she see you and your daugther do it together so can please help me thank you

To space, the tape will depend on the width of the window and to divide it accordingly. As for the fabric to start, use a light weight fabric. hope that help. all the best with your daughter.

Love Love Love!! I am wondering what intervals to make the pleats.(see yours are 5" apart) the window treatment I am making I just 32 1/2" long. are the pleats just to make the uniform look? I ask that because I am thinking the tape on the back would pull it up...love your work!
