Where is Octane sitting compared to Redshift of XPU when it comes to complex scenes?

I generally don't do complex scenes, but based solely on the fact that both Redshift and Octane are GPU based they should both suck equally at complex scenes. In any case, you can always optimize your scene to work properly.
