Tutorial reading the DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor with Arduino and VB

In this tutorial we connect a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor to the Arduino and write a small Arduino program to read the values from the sensor and send them down the serial port. We write a small vb.net windows application using Visual Studio to read these values from the serial port and display them in a window.

The only inputs I need for the DHT22 are power and ground, and the only output is the serial data, correct? Is there any additional bitbanged signal that needs to be sent to the DHT22?

i really apreciate your effort, thank you for sharing it with us.. I recreate your project everything is ok, only one small visual problem (in the textbox i get the values withowt no ponit ,for ex: i get 200 insted of 20.0), i can figure out why, the code is exactly the same and i use VS2010 to, please give me a answer. sorry i ment arduino code and vb.net code ?? i need the same but in adition that the small aplication write in a .txt files (differents files) like temperature.txt and humedad.txt just the values of C° and humidity . could you hel to me ? Thank you in advance.

I found what was it! If someone has the Arduino Leonardo board he should add 2 serial options in the code. objSerial.DtrEnable = True objSerial.RtsEnable = True

I don't understand. Something is missing . You need a handler to receive the events from the serial.
