Never thought to just manually assign vertices to bones rather than weight painting. Gonna have to give this a try.

Really nice tutorial! A very nice and simple way to explain the IK setup too!

Thanks! I really don't know why it's usually explained in such complicated way

hi thank you for sharing, would you consider making a tutorial on how to make a base mesh with the proportions of the 3d model in the thumbnail?

I love your models and art style so much. Do you plan on doing a low poly tutorial for modelling and UVs too? Thank you so much for this video

9:45 Shouldn't the knee and elbow things be used as pole targets instead of adding a new IK constraint?
@molegato_studios9 күн бұрын
You can do that! And depending on the rig, that works! Results vary a lot though, I've found this method is a bit more consistent

@@molegato_studios Gotcha. I didn't realize there was a functional difference, to my untrained eye it just looked like more work.

Nice! Can i use these in mixamo for animation?
@molegato_studios18 күн бұрын
If you get an animation from Mixamo you can't use it in a custom rig unless it's identical in names and bones, but there's still ways around it through retargeting!
