I would absolutely love a tutorial on how you do the pattern matching. I had a question, is there a reason why you use scissors for the printed fabric but the rotary cutter for the rest?
@retrofolie88634 жыл бұрын
I feel like scissors are better for precision work :) But thank you for your feedback

Yes it makes the corset much stronger! Thank you for your feedback :D !

I worked somewhere making industrial products. We'd sew buckles and straps on 3 times with thick thread for strength and each got 2 rows of it. Much different use and a lot more pressure but I can confirm multiple stitchings is a great idea

Really pretty 😱😱💖💖 why do you insert the waistband? What purpose does it have? And more on boning (options, techniques) would be awesome 💖💖🎉🎉
@retrofolie88634 жыл бұрын
The waist tape supports the area with the most tension (the waistline) and prevents stretching or tearing. It makes the waistline stronger! :)

Do you mark the boning channel placement that goes in the middle of panels in any way? How do you make sure that you get them in the middle and symmetrical?
@retrofolie88634 жыл бұрын
I don't!! I used to mark it before but now I just sew approximately in the middle. I guess it could be off slightly if I was to compare both sides but I feel like it doesn't show at all.

i noticed that you commented to someone that you print this fabric yourself. it's so beautiful! would you ever consider selling this fabric? i promise i'm not trying to cramp your style, lol, but my sister loves the vintage vivienne westwood corset tops (she's been begging me to make one for her for months) and this fabric would be perfect for one! you have so many other lovely prints that i would jump at the chance to purchase!!!
@retrofolie88634 жыл бұрын
No I wouldn't be selling any fabrics any time soon. I already have too many projects! I suggest you find a place that prints custom fabrics. You can find local places or probably online as well :)

Beautiful work! Well done👍👏👏 honestly breath taking but i have a question, how long does it take you to make your corsets for instance this one in the video? Also do you have your own pattern who do you print it from somewhere? If so could you please suggest where i can get the pattern for it?

Hi! This corset takes about 6hours to make. I make the patterns myself and I don't sell them at this time. There is a lot of corset pattern available on etsy or check out @araneablackcorsets
