Tutorial video for Solo Baston/ Stick Form #1 - Arnis Rising Filipino Martial Arts.
I've broken it down for the Taekwondo students in 8 sections to be done as step exercises so it fits in with what they already know.
Do it slow and steady and get each movement right then we can speed it up later.
There is also the base kata from Wado Ryu Karate - Pinan Nidan which this form is build upon at the end of the video so the directional movements will make sense.
You will find fundamental strikes, blocks, deflections and disarms in this form to help better understand the basics of arnis and combative movement with a weapon. Head movement is important.
Look in the direction first before turning into each direction as this trains us to use our peripheral vision for incoming attacks and the ability to intercept them.
