I have tried various code, changed ths SS pin to 10 for my setup but trying it on a 128Mb SD it fails on initialisation ? The SD is fine, formatted as 32 but FAT, and can be read/written on my PC, but despite checking my wiring very carefully on the Arduino UNO, I cannot get past the initialisation stage ????? Is this SD card at 128MB too small for this to work ? the reader I am using is the one in your videos. It's driving me nuts...........

There is problem in SD.h library. One of my 4 GB card, class 4 did not work, but other (cheaper chinese...) works okay. I suspect that the problem is in detecting and probing type of the card, because out there exist various types, and sub-types. Try another card if you have.

When you start building stand-alone loggers, one technique to save power is to disconnect the SD card during logger sleep. I've posted a method to do this with an Arduino at: edwardmallon.wordpress.com/2017/05/21/switching-off-sd-cards-for-low-power-data-logging/
