All credits to the preset makers for the excellent sounds. But honestly, this looks lika Pigments sound bank marketed as a separate instrument with fancy graphics. Not sure why this is a part of a "Vintage Collection".

How is this not Pigments?
@stephen303
@stephen303 2 жыл бұрын
That's sorta what I'm wondering. Pigments even has some vocal-based sound banks that kinda sound like this. And also, Pigments can load in two synth engines then you can blend them however you want. Essentially you can recreate something similar to this, but the interface is way different.

7:28 rich, natural, authentic recordings... 7:34 Real Voices... Sorry, is it just me? I don't hear very good samples. They sound thin and synthetic to me. Do I miss something or was it just a bad example. Would like to hear other opinions. Maybe some people already tested the base samples and can share their experiences... Thanks in advance.

The instrument is... Ok, very "NI" if you know what I mean, still prefer the "hardware emulation Arturia", I think that's what they're best at. But it's true that most of the greats had already been emulated (and some of them pretty well). Perhaps classic drum machines, there u have a fertile ground... The point is I don't think incluiding "Augmented" series in V Collection (which are in essence keys emulations) is the right path to take, seems a little bit forced, but hey... Oh by the way, what a charisma Lena! This is how u make a tutorial, not rushing it but still absolutely involved in what you're saying. Way to go! You now have a fan from Buenos Aires Argentina haha

I know what you mean but I think they scored a winner with Pigments, it’s a killer synth! However, the Augmented series seem to be a scaled down Pigments so not sure what they’re aiming for?
@DeepHipilossa
@DeepHipilossa 2 жыл бұрын
@@chitlun But that's the point: Pigments is not a part of the V Collection, right? And it makes perfect sense... If this is the path they're taking, they could sell two different collections, one for vintage synths (like V) and a modern software (Komplete-like) one. And improve the later with more "augmented" instruments or Pigments expantions, while V Collection could grow with some not-explored and highly demanded market, like drum machines for example. Arturia could kill with those... Geez, guess they should hire me already! haha

What’s interesting here is that we’re seeing Arturia shifting focus. The influence of the Native Instruments Kontakt products is clear, and the A/B layering format has established well enough. I’m curious why this is included in V9, as I expect this is a product line with a long roadmap that pushes into the vertical that NI and UJAM and Spitfire and even Akai are gaining traction in. The resource cost to take the Pigments engine and create “sound theme” hybrid products is less intensive and can ship more regularly than instrument emulations. Likewise this is a clever way to market a hybrid product given sound banks aren’t very exciting or novel (I’d be surprised if they generate significant revenue for Arturia as a product line, even if COGS is negligible). My guess is we see these carve out of future V10 or so, and end up in a subscription or other bundling. Personally I’ve used Arturia since 2004 in studio and on tour, and I even had an Origin supplied by the distributor for a while back in the day. Love the company and can’t live without the V or FX series. But string and voice is… just okay. Not for me. Hope it doesn’t clutter up the synth bundle. As a career SaaS Product Manager it feels like two product lines with distinctly different user personas holding each other back and potentially muddying their verticals. Obviously the detail of the UI means there’s a lot more of these on the roadmap, but… please, carve them out. Let them shine in their own category and good luck.

Hello, may I ask you what's your opinion about the base samples material? Either Strings or Vocals. I could not find a good audio or video about the actual sample quality. As mentioned in my other comment with timestamps, I am not really impressed. My first thoughts on the "authentic natural stuff" was: thin and synthetic. 🤔🤏🦾

@@maikkaune oh that's unfortunate, plus, no offense to Arturia, but their demos are only 20 minutes long on top of that.... between Strings and Voices i think Strings is the stronger vst, but they work very much the same (as does Aug. Grand Piano) and you can import your own samples if you're finding you're not liking the ones provided.
