The first section on vector brushes was really helpful. That will be everything I need. I'll only need to texture some strokes occasionally

How do you remove a brush stroke from a curve? I can't expand my stroke since I used a brush even though I switched it to a solid style and used pressure to achieve the same result? Thanks in advance!!

Hi. Thank you for your great tutorials. I'm trying to make a brush out of a number of different elements. For example little roses of different colors and shapes I have the illustrations a roses leaves branches as individual files. How do I create a random brush so I can paint with my roses and leaves and petals? Thank you ever so much.

In AI art brushes' stroke weight can't be adjusted via shortcut keys. Which is a huge mess. So if I got it right we can now import art brushes from illustrator, e.g. waterpaint or charcoal brushes and paint with them in Affinity adjusting their size with shortcuts, right?

Thanks for the tutorial, I bought affinity designer a couple of weeks ago so this is gold. Adobe has gotten so expensive, these guys are gonna eat their lunch.

We will only know when Adobe suddenly starts offering new “discounts” or some kind or new “budget plan”.

Ditto, but just purchased both Affinity Designer & Photo, coming from DECADES of being an Adobe AI & PS user.

Is there anything similar to Illustrators SCATTER BRUSHES in Affinity Designer?

In the Pixel Persona you can create Photoshop-like brushes that include x and y offset.

the only useful thing u didn't show is how to export the image with a brush stroke, without getting it pixelated.

Coming from Illustrator where I do most of my work with brushes (pencil tool and brush tool), I find Affinity Designers brush tool to be annoying. Overall it's great but the smoothing options (stabilizer) are super annoying to use, the way you drag the line with a "rope". It's not accurate or intuitive at all imho. I like how with Illustrator the smoothing is just natural and intrinsic to the tool.

AI sucks. They don't even have stroke weight shortcuts, which makes using art brushes totally impracticable.

There are 2 reasons (that are important to me) why I did not switch from Photoshop to Affinity (although I also used Clip Studio Paint for drawing) and they are the following 2: 1. Affinity in the brushes only shows you the stroke, I only want to see the tip of the brush as in photoshop since I know the brushes that I normally use, even if I modify them or use downloaded brushes, so I have more in the same space brushes to select instead of downloading and searching from the hundreds that I have ... 2. The .dds files, today in 2021 and there is no implementation of these files (like others) in Affinity, either natively or by third parties, for me this is important, in other programs they already have it natively and you can download and use them (like the Nvidia plugin at Adobe), open it and save it in any quality/option/preset i want (.dds) Only for those 2 reasons is that I do not change, but if they solve them then I jump and stay in Affinity
