This is heavenly. Perfect - a pure joy to the ears (and eyes). Albeit he's lagging a bit to the tempo at times - there's nothing better one could wish! Anyone claiming that the art of singing were dead forever - here it is: alive, young, fresh, vivid, with perfect mastery! I think D'Arcangelo plays a Figaro who is passionate, determined, quick witted, and absolutely indomitable. He brings a depth and a multifaceted quality to his Figaro that is fascinating. His comic acting in other operas has that adorable goofy quality that is not present in his Figaro, but I don't think it should be.

I think his acting is generally better when he's not playing the lead and can't fall back on his looks. He does a great Dulcamara and a not bad Leporello.
