first of all Happy 2023 to you Katie & Chris and your new school. I am an audience member, and I found this video very instructive, logical, and well thought out, which is “how you roll”.

Beautiful performance! Miami was trippin’ you look beautiful ❤ also I have never seen this show, thank you sharing. The jazz inspiration through the show, I can see why Balanchine made it it’s own full piece Bravissimo🎉🎉🎉

The day before I did video auditions I would have my students do a dress rehearsal so they were very confident before filming … I would also strongly recommend showing side view at the barre as everything can be seen . The day of filming we would do a walk through then film ❤ This proved helpful as everyone of my students were accepted their programs some with scholarships I suppose I’m saying to really approach these with the respect you would give to any performance Good luck to all you young dancers🎉… let nothing stop you …and remember to compare is to despair❤❤❤

Your advice is really helpful for applications and interviews, too! It goes to show that dancers are really smart. The unique things dancers learn tie into other parts of life.

These are such helpful tips that also serve well for job interviews . I’m very glad that there are no auditions for your adult intensive; I’d be a nervous wreck. I enjoyed last week so much and hope to be back next year. ❤🩰❤️🩰

Kathryn, I just want you to know how you have changed my life. I watched some of your videos about your health issues and realized how familiar your symptoms were. I got the active B -12 with L-5 MTHF you suggested. It has literally changed my life! I have energy again, I have been losing weight, my brain fog is gone, and I am off Adderall! Thank you so incredibly much!! I know this is not what this video is about, but I wanted you to know how you taking about your health journey is helping others.

As someone who doesnt know a lot about ballet I would pick the one who looks most like a professional dancer. Clean, neat, mentally focused,no frills, just the tidy body getting down to work. A bit of personality, but not a giggler or someone who looks in a flap.

If registration begins at noon and lasts until twelve thirty, should I aim to get there at eleven fifty? On one hand I don't want there to be any issues if I'm running late, but I don't want to be the first person there

I'll bite. How much of a massive talent does one have to consider one's self, to roll in looking like the tail end of a three day bender, doing with walk of shame? It must happen, because it was brought up as an issue. My brain melted hearing that tip. Only Misha could maybe pull that off lol

Where were you 40 years ago? Not born, yet. Well, I would have loved to have had some information like this back then. No one came to Chicago to do summer intensive auditions or company auditions. I took classes with a girl who looked exactly like a dancer. She joined Winnipeg Ballet, I think; I don't really remember; it was 40 years ago. However, she couldn't dance her way out of a paper bag. She was a slow learner of variations and couldn't have switched sides in a corps spot like Snow or Swan Lake to save her life. She lasted a year. Me, I was always 10 pounds overweight, no matter what I tried to do. I have flat feet, so my pointe shoes were never quite right. But, I was an extremely fast learner and could switch sides on a dime. But, I was never allowed to demonstrate any of this because I was just another blonde, blue-eyed 5'6" dancer with just a bit too much in the thighs. 😞
