Jack Kelly I'm just watching the show and I wondered upon this song. What a coincidence!
@comradewildcat17704 жыл бұрын
How the hell did you catch that? Everytime I hear this song I think of Civ V, but I've watched WW2 in colour at least 10 times the past few years and never thought of it but now that I saw that part again it suddenly clicked in my brain that that's the reason why it felt so familiar at that scene. Odd.

This is one of the best European soundtracks for me; Civ has so much music content from around the world, the other cultural music pieces (Middle East/Africa, Asia, and the Americas) can’t be ignored 💯

Currently playing as Germany in Civ V and launched an all out Barbarossa style invasion of nearly every Civ except Rome, the Huns, and Sweden. Sweden decided to denounce me for no particular reason, even after leaving them be all game, supporting them in the World Congress, trading with them, and even sometimes giving them material for free. After the denunciation, I knew I had no choice. This is first theme that came to mind once I declared war on them. Oh Gustav, how you mislead your once brave people.

This track defines Civ 5 for me. It screams "Man, it would be better if we could just resolve this through diplomatic means...." Then I remember that the AI must die because it "told the world of my sins" for no reason a few turns ago. 🤣

Not a chance.
@nakanoyuko8 ай бұрын
It features a similar enough chord transition to warrant maybe theres specific inspiration, but different enough that it's also possible the composer has not heard of it and just is similarly educated in some regards. If I had to bet my life I would indeed guess the Elegance composer has heard that Adagio and started his wriring around it as a foundation

Sounds like an elegy to the human race after the planet has coated with blanket of nuclear ash. Fitting, then, that this reminds me of the reprise of the Schindler’s List theme.

I fear we won't go out in a blaze of fire, but decay from the rot by our own species's crimes against ourselves and the planet. All coastal cities overrun, all ice caps melted, all permafrost disintegrated, all endangered animals have become extinct, billions of people suffering while a few thousand rule from ivory mansions far away from the real world.

Proud Shoshone empire refuses to accept defeat. In last attempt makes pact with China to declare war on warmongering Netherland. Inicial forces successfully conquer city of Gao, but they refuse to acknowledge people Shonhai as sovereign nation as a result millions are killed or forced to flee. Shoshone could not match industrial power and advancements of Netherland. Over the next decades city of Gao was changing government many times each time resulting in major population loses to the point where there was no one left. World historians describe battle of Gao as the bloodiest event since ancient era. Event that created what we now call railroad of death. First and longest railroad, across half of the world. They say that during battle of Gao no soldier who went on that railroad has ever returned home.
