You have to love Ralph Records!! They produced this Classic and so many others in this same era and with crazy awesome styles! Check out Renaldo & the Loaf - Songs for Swinging Larvae, Snakefinger - The Dark Sedan, and pretty much Anything "Residents", and a few others (if you were not aware already)......So Enjoy (or continue too, as I Do)!!! Huge Thank You Ralph Records!!

80s? Actually add in the 70s, 90s, and 2000s. They're still together, which is a miracle in itself. Appranently Blaine L. Reininger became queasy after gargling soap from the bedpan. The director Graeme Whiffler quickly handed Blaine a pile of freshly silk-screened Residents T-shirts to throw up on. Hardy Fox of Cryptic Corp. was there and saw it. LOL.

"Why all the flags at half mast Why the murders the rage Where the retainers of passion Left from a sensible age To wipe the wretched history From this page Why the people so bloated What making cancerous sin Where the godmerging shamans To make new sense out of this din To make beast calming music Out of this din Don't disrespect your parents Rather calm their panic Curb their distemper Don't tamper with their rot No diaper, no rash Put out the trash It's a jinx, it's a jinx!!"

yet another good example of how the videoclip creates a totally different reading than the song by itself

@TheLonesomeEchoesite Formed in 1977 by multi-instrumentalists Blaine L. Reininger and Steven Brown, then two students of electronic music at San Francisco City College, with technical assistance from video artist Tommy Tadlock, Tuxedomoon started playing salons and accompanying performances by Angels of Light. that was taken from wikipedia.

I love Ralph Records with all my heart. I’ve worked with many Residents alumni and I worked on the cd reissue of Title in limbo. My band The Scallions was on Tom Timony’s Esoteric music group label.

Tuxedomoon tried to make classy post punk and The Residents is surrealist music. Renaldo and the Loaf followed their footsteps. Both are good, but I think Tuxedomoon is more suitable for late night listening, LOL.

i seem to remember a video for "incubus" playing at 688. anyone remember or have it? (of course, considering my drug-addled state during that time, who knows . . . )

@verlissee the comment i was replying to was removed by the author obviously......his comment was that tuxedo moon was around way before david lynch, which is wrong. and you know what? I dont give a shit who cares this being a public message board and all......but apparently you care......or else you would not have commented. and what a brave thing to say anonomously by the way, did it make you feel important? I bet you feel sooo smart having left such a witty remark!
