That was super useful, I'm going on Monday morning to buy a tv for our bedroom and the range and information was bewildering! I'm a 55 year old fart who remembers a little black and white portable tv in his bedroom 35 years ago, when tvs had channels switched by pressing buttons on the tv! Thank you for that, I know what to look for now.

Hello 82. I enjoyed your presentation. My ongoing problem is that we have an old non-smart Panasonic plasma TV that WILL NOT DIE! It has some burn that is visible only on super bright screens.....and the speakers are shot. We use a sound bar. But the darned thing just keeps on its 720 dpi way. I have been eyeing TCL for years and now with their TCL - 65" Class Q7 Q-Class 4K QLED HDR Smart TV with Google TV I'm once again thinking of retiring our beloved plasma. We hook up our ROKU with a 4k cable and away we go. WHAT TO DO??!!!

Hello mate. Is there possibility to help me with decision between LG 50nano763qa nanocell smart uhd 4k and TCL 50c635 qled 50'' 4k hdr 60hz googletv. Third possible option would be LG 50ur81003lj smart 4k ultra hd (2023). I kinda wanted TCL first because of QLED technology and deeper and more realistic black color, but I came to conclusion searching on internet that Nanocell should be better option for rooms with bright day light, which will be case in room where I intend to install TV. Any help and guidance will be much appreciated!
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
hmm not sure man :) TCL has 120Hz but never had TCL TV before, its are not so popular in the UK, cant say if it's good or not. Both LG are fantastic, you can't really go wrong with them.

Well i dont think hdr is mainly about color accuracy... Its really about the broader range of brightness that can be displayed. So lets say if you have white table and white sun in same image, the sun will ve even brighter them that table. And yeah the colors will be more vibrant... I am not expert here... But i do think that description of hdr is missing important point ..
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
with HDR display we went from 16 mln to 1 billion colors, in HDR mode colors are more accurate. White is a color, different sources of white will be represented more accurately with HDR.

I've seen basically zero evidence that "scientists" think humans are only able to see 30 frames per second. People say this all the time, but no one ever seems to cite any sources. The reason gamers care so much about higher frame rates is because of input lag and focus. Input lag is dramatically increased at lower frame rates because you have to wait for a frame to render and display, then make decisions and react as a human, then wait again for your decisions to be rendered and displayed in subsequent frames. If you "just miss" the cutoff on frame renders at 30 fps, that's a total delay of about 65 ms on top of any hardware lag you have in the system, which probably brings total input lag up to around 100 ms. A tenth of a second for your actions to register on screen is noticeable to most people paying attention. On top of that, gamers are usually looking intensely at specific parts of the screen for specific details, completely different from how you would passively consume video content or movies.
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
I never saw this either. that 30 FPS is more a myth but the general agreement is around 30-60 FPS. It's hard to measure this, the human eye is not operating as the camera
@nlpascal Жыл бұрын
o led being the best display technology is debatable. Rtings hass shown that even modern panels still suffer from burn in. Meaning the picture quality degrades over time with noticeable difference as fast as a year. I wouldn't recommend this technology for a tv that will have lots of use. Especially if it will be on a news channel all day.
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
very good point. I heard about those problems some time ago but not too much recently. Not sure if the new models have something better than the first generation of OLEDs. If someone has an OLED please share yours thougts
@raultrujillo2240 Жыл бұрын
Got an OLED cause of these KZbin suggestions. Biggest waste of money! They have something called burn in affects that are not covered in the insurance. Stick with Mini QLED for now until the figure out the burn in problems in OLEDs.
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
when they first introduced that technology yes those OLEDs had a burn-in problem. I don't have an OLED TV but I heard this problem was affecting first gen of those TVs. Now manufacturers equip their OLED TVs with software measures designed to mitigate the risk of burn-in.

Which technology has better durability, QLED or OLED?👍😁🏸
@hardwin82 Жыл бұрын
with OLED there is a tiny chance of burn in. Hard to say. In the long run I would put my money on QLED
