Martita Hunt and Boris Karloff spoke with a very distinguished English accent -- very regal. My English grandparents spoke in the same manner. This is an excellent episode of "Thriller." Ida Lupino was an amazing actress and director. Many thanks, Rob W.

My dad, born in 1921 in Montana, would always fill me in on the actresses he admired in his early years. He seemed to know a lot about them. He'd see a them cast in a TV series and tell me all about the movie rolles they played and any pertinent details. Ida Lupino was one of them. He had great respect for her work on and off screen. Funny how he never had anything to say about male actors. He sure knew his screen ladies. His big sis married into a family that owned movie theaters. I know movies were their main entertainment other than outdoors in the Rocky Mountains. There were 8 kids in his his class his senior year of high school. He had stories! Oh, did he have stories! He is missed.

@@wendybutler1681 Cling to those memories. Hopefully, you can journalize those stories told by your dad! I've been all over the USA, but I have yet to visit "The Big Sky Country" (Montana). I remember a film about the "smoke jumpers" who put out forest fires in and around the state of Montana. The film was, "The Red Skies of Montana" with Richard Widmark, Jeffrey Hunter and Richard Boone. I like the ladies of the "big screen" too. One of my favourite actresses was Maureen O'Hara. She looked so much like my ma (Helen). Many thanks -- W

Phyllis Thaxter was a stellar actress. In spite of a pretty face, and almost fragile exterior, she brought a startling intensity to her characters. In an episode on Alfred Hitchcock Hour, she played a mousy middle age secretary who had been seduced then dumped by her boss. It was mostly just her and Zachary Scott on screen for the entire time. By the end I felt drained. Yup, she was something else.
