These mad old ads bring back so many childhood memories: I used to sing the “Mean Mr. Clean” jingle (with different lyrics) about my strict 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Green - “…she hates kids!” That really broke ‘em up in the lunchroom! For the rest of the school year I was Mrs. Green’s mortal enemy. Wherever you are, I’m sorry Mrs. Green.

Boldman should have had his own comic-book series after his TV catoon commercial debut aa well as his own animated series this side of Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, who already had their own Saturday morning aninated adventures back then! Let's see what happens in 2024 should Boldman return with a Saturday morning TV cartoon show and his own comic-book series by then!

The one thing these commercials have in common is that they were created by Thomas Scott Cadden.......

The blonde haired woman in the Bold commercial at 21:32 looks like the late Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling from The Andy Griffith Show), but I'm not sure if it's her. Then you have Phil Silvers for Pream non-dairy coffee creamer, with Robert Strauss (Animal from Stalag 17) as the cop. House Peters Jr. plays the live action Mr. Clean.

it's nice to go back in time and see how commercials and life was back in those days. I was born in 84 but I do have an appreciation of these commercials. it's like a time-machine watching these. can I ask how were you able to get this old footage?

Hate to say the Pringles people are wrong, but I've never seen a can of Pringles chips that didn't have some broken chips in it when it was opened. Some breaking is inevitable during the shipping process.

@fromthesidelines7 жыл бұрын
Most of these ads were NOT seen in 1966. Pringles was introduced in 1970. The classic "Mr. Clean" ad at 16:12 was originally shown in 1958.....................

Where are the black characters....we are consumers too?
@elc1960 Жыл бұрын
Sad to say, but black people were horribly underrepresented in TV commercials and on TV shows throughout most of the '60s. I grew up in a predominately black neighborhood back then and always wondered why, if most of my classmates weren't white, then why was almost everyone on TV white? The answer was simple: the people who produced the shows and commercials were all Caucasian. The '70s brought the slow change and things got better. Not great, you understand, just better.
