Interesting to see the mechanical noise levels falling as the broadcast technologies developed. Betacam SP format still works superb for recording the AFM analogue audio tracks, and there are a few of us still doing it. The video recording was low resolution compared to today's formats, but the audio quality still beats anything recorded in a digital format, including the hi-res sampling rates.

I don´t agree at all. The digital sound (even on Mini-DV) is totally superior to the sound from Betacam machines.

Ampex 2" Quads were on their way out when I began my career in March 1980. I went on to be factory trained on the VPR2 1" in Redwood City.

Gee I feel old, I began when broadcast video tape was invented. I worked on every quad machine AMPEX made. It waa way less complicated then helical

It's not a 1" type C, it's a 1"type B segmented helical. Segmented helical is a hybrid between quadruplex and full field helical. It lays the video tracks diagonally across the tape like full field helical scan machines, but takes several tracks, usually 5 or 6 depending on the line and field standard 6 for the 625/50 standard and 5 for the 525/60 standard to record one field like quadruplex machines.

Головки уже спилены. Отдача с ленты должна быть ровной, а она показывает черте-что. И заломов в сигнале отдачи не должно быть. Поэтому и полосня на изображении и факелит картинка.

hi i had to work on alot of sony 75p decks i fixed up alot of parts that would not move bad audio knob's got them all fixed need 2 as parts decks they came from a ex hire place

The BCN was an interesting machine.. I only ever used one on demo for about three weeks. Nice, but no thanks. What was the first big 2-inch machine...? It looks like a soviet copy of the VR-1200 ?

Exactly my thoughts on both machines… We had a BCN on loan for about a month to evaluate, at the same time as an AVR3. Guess which one won! We played with the 3, but at the time converted to C format.

Betamax .vhs.betacam ..teknologi yg super di jamannya.era makin modern ada kelebihan dan kekurangan itulah teknologi .munkin yg sekarang kita pakai 50..100 thn lagi akan menjadi kuno.tetapi sejarah tetap ada sebagai keindahan teknologi tempo dulu,( saya masih punya betamax proyaktor 8 mm .vhs dan kadang_2 saya memutarnya)

@@OscarVi Jā ,tas filmēts +- 2003.gadā. Pašreiz viens Kadrs ir ejošs ,bet nav sinhro daļas .Gribējām akurātāk uzfilmēt vectētiņu, bet pagaidām nekā.
