The last spot with Brideshead Revisted on the cover and Richard Briers voice-over marked the change over from TV Times to TV Times Magazine, when they added "lfestyle issues" to the traditional listings paper.

That's incorrect; The first TV Times Magazine with the changed "lifestyle" format was a week before, dated 3rd to 9th October, 1981. With Jane Fonda on the cover, and some Jaws premiere articles inside. The last edition of the TV Times with the old style listings design was dated 29th Sept. to 2nd Oct. 1981, with Peter Bowles, Ian Cuthbertson and Paul Spurrier on the cover, from the series called Vice-Versa. Aaah, I remember that well. :-0

TV Times: part listings mag, part 'Hello!'.

I find that issue with Thora Hird could be from Feb 1986 as I know that A Kind of Loving was shown on Channel 4 in that month of that year.

Try finding old copies of those magazines on ebay for next to nothing lol. Plenty on ebay being listed for really silly prices, some as much as 50 quid lol, plus about a tenner on top for postage (as if it costs £10 to post a magazine that weighs only a few grams). People who are selling those magazines for that kind of money are really taking the piss, probably because they know that there's a sort of appeal for them for those who like to look back at what was on TV back in the day (and because the internet is absent of any proper old TV listings archive - aside from the BBC Genome site). Even finding out what was on TV only last year is a real pain if you haven't got old TV guides, you'd think the online TV guides would archive and database listings since digital TV guides became commonplace, but it seems not. I think this is the problem with anything that is stored digitally or online, information can be deleted or never archived or databased, making it almost impossible to find anything that was on TV, unless you happen to have a physical copy in magazine form or a newspaper etc.

There is a point where you can be too close to a winking Ringo Starr. At the start of this video we are clearly beyond that point.

I don't think he was winking, he's probably doing that one eye sign that so many celebs, politicians etc are so often seen doing, often with one hand covering their left eye or one eye closed or one side of their face in shadow.

I'm not sure if it's a fault on my side but it only seems to be your videos that drop out of synch sometimes. Great collection by the way. I would love to see some full shows, espeically Saturday Live. Keep up the good work!
