I'm an American and I lived in the UK from 1994-98. Every morning I would grab my coffee and tune into The Big Breakfast before heading to work. Its funny I'd forgotten about this show but suddenly the theme tune popped into my head out of nowhere so I had to look up the program on KZbin. Watching this clip really makes me miss living in England and I miss the 90's.

Came across this and it took me back....I was the project director and designed and built the refurbishment of the cottages and the refit of the studio inside, I remember the whole crew including Chris and Gabby doing all the promo for the show and the early interviews with the Stars. Met Paula Yates and she was a very nice lady. That show was a one off and the starter for breakfast tv.

I miss that inherent 90s optimism. Everything seemed more colourfull! You realy felt it turn in the early 2000s. compare this to bbc Breakfast now. Just seems a different world.

I used to watch this before I went to school. I loved sick days, when I could watch the whole show. Oddly I never bothered to watch it on bank holidays and other times when I was allowed to be off XD. Anybody remember when they built a replica of the house (complete with 'eggy' wallpaper) and there was a competition to win it?

@@Freshy009 a few things. They had a Wendy house outside that was covered in sweets. I think they were glued in but that didn't stop us. The puppeteers for Zig and Zag were hilarious. We were put up in this lush apartment in Canary wharf. And after filming they would arrange stuff for us to do like have a vip trip to Chessington

This is what breakfast TV should be like. I think people got used to it, and it became 'samey' over the years. However, compare it to the borefests that we have now, and I think we'd all be happy for it to make a comeback.

I was literally in a "timewarp" for the best part of this clip! I forgot this was now on KZbin and not Channel 4! Seriously though, I'd give ANYTHING to go back to the 1990s! It's all complete and utter shite today in 2018 with the drab breakfast shows on the BBC and smug git Piers Morgan on ITV ect ect!!
