The Intangible Truth《生死訟》(主演:郭晉安、方中信、關詠荷、鄧萃雯、陳曼娜、吳啟明):馬錦超 ( 羅樂林飾 ) 與妻陳卿玉 (蘇杏璇飾)育有長女馬潔(鄧萃雯飾)、次子馬海(郭晉安飾)及三女馬泳，但馬錦超後來另有娶富家女林伊媚(陳曼娜飾)，並育有兩子馬洋(方中信飾)及馬江(吳啟明飾)。馬錦超另娶後對陳卿玉一家不聞不問，而陳卿玉生性懦弱，雖丈夫有外遇多年仍維持婚姻，並經常被林伊媚三母子欺負。馬海則對父親所為極之痛恨。

In reality, the triad members also has to do "work", just like the legitimately "employed". Everybody has to make a livjng, or find a way to. So the triads "employ" many as like companies/corporations do. Though their products are considered not legal and cause/impose negative effects on society. Products that are considered legal may also cause/impose negative effects on society. Everyone exist (has a presence) in the society so everyone is affected if not immediately then sometime later/in the future. But everyone in this series has plenty to eat, and are dressed comfortably.

Hong Kong people (these characters) see Hong Kong as a dead end. The girl character from China sees Hong Kong as a new beginning. Back then in the '90's it was uncommon to find a bar of soap for handwashing in the public bathrooms (southern China...I was there), even those in better hotels and restaurants. This series is true to the minor details. In episode 2 the grandmother went back to the doctor office to stand on line for extra medicine. Modern medicine at low cost is such a privilege, so she returns to get more just by standing in queue. There is little else she can do in her life except to watch TV in the dark (led lighting not a thing yet) and use her privileges. Her generation in China or Hong Kong had no modern medicine, not even aspirin, and relied on slow acting and less effective herbal remedies that are at times inconsistent in its power to relieve.
