Filmed in 1982 and rolled out in Summer, 39 years on... I was a sixteen-year-old kid before graduation from high school. What makes me feel this is worth watching again is not the sitcom, it’s all about the casting. More than half of the crew are Cantonese movie actors and u wouldn’t have anymore chances to see them work together again. Like Tse Yin partnered with Cheung Ying Choi, both were very popular chief characters during the 60’s. There’re many more in the upcoming episodes.

可惜这个版本没有人知道为什么？ 仅限于中国大陆还是全球华人界？ 我刚刚看觉得很喜欢：但是要穿越：道具和场景和摄影，打光，还有改动的后10集。有些服装设计发型比现在的版本好，当然最好的是角色的契合和武打设计

Thirty nine years ago when I was a sixteen-year old watching this sitcom, I only paid attention to those main characters and how well the martial arts directed. But after all the years, now as a total grown-up and with all the help of internet, I learnt a lot more about why we would have all these classic TV sitcoms and long before that, lots of them were actually made in the 60’s Cantonese movies, but just because they didn’t have enough publicity and that’s why we didn’t even know. Now when watching this again, I felt completely different as I enjoy to see all those Cantonese movie actors transforming themselves successfully from the old day’s black and white movies to the 80’s TV. Imagine they had come a long way from different movie companies, and worked with tons of people, some were long gone way before the 80’s. The first two episodes, we had a chance to see Cheung Ying Choi partnered with Tse Yin, they never worked together in movies and Cheung’s long time partner was Lam Fung, Tse’s for Ka Ling. We are lucky to see Lau Hak Suen in the two-year contract with TVB playing in a couple of well known classic. Plus, he’s the oldest man at 79 of the whole crew, ten years ahead of Shek Kin. I was shocked to see my favorite, Elvis Presley of the Orient, Cheng Kwan Mean who played the old master, Wong Yet Wah was lucky to have this one time chance to work with him. The last one is Lee Shao Kee, who played the monk to play chess and tried to break the code. He was in tons of old Chinese films and he also did producer as well.

我只看这81版和97版。 两版有同样优点。虽然81版故事有改编过多，但加97版。。 1) 从主角，配角，客串到龙套都是实力派演员。当时TVB演员训练班果然是华人演员界的少林寺啊。 2) 武术指导有方。招式干净利落，招招清清楚楚。没有过多慢动作。没有过多摄像机晃动。掌法拳法看的很清晰。 3) 背景演技当时也很重要。没台词的情况。摄像机没直接拍到演员。演员照样敬业的演下去。 4) 一部剧由投资方固定几集。导致有固定时间。所以不会浪费太多时间拍美景，演员耍帅。那些时间用来加戏来丰富人物的性格。 而且以前演员大多是天然美。没有那么多塑料脸。根本不用浪费珍贵剧里的时间耍帅秀美。 5) 以前演员也演的很细。肢体语言，眼神，声音变化等。 6) 以前服装也不夸张。比较接地气。 7) 以前的歌曲和bgm虽然比较套路化，但比较有武侠味或江湖味。
