It was (is) a good analysis by Soyinka. I found the interviewer poor. But I have always had problems with Nigerian reporters, they lack natural fluidity. I will deviate from Soyinka. A fundamental clean break needs to be made now. So not incremental autonomy. Once that break is done nations can then negotiate their future relationship with one another but first that “respect” has to given to each nation. We all know the south east and south west have a deep connection anyway for example, but first that self respect needs to be accorded to each side first. So I am for self determination and if these media “eggheads” want to continue to rebrand it as secession then so be it I am for secession. In fact from now on I will be embracing that term in all my writings wholeheartedly. I will use the same tactics they use when they refer to militant Fulani herdsmen as common bandits.
