@danladianagi8729 this isn't a grammar class.. You use what is used in that jurisdiction.. It's as simple as that..here in Ghana we call it "special voting"... And since you're speaking about our elections, it is prudent to use the appropriate terms.. Very simple... You will not come to Ghana and call a trotro bus/matatu or a mate conductor.. You use the right and proper inference.... Danki

There is a point I want to emphasize. All the major political parties have their collation system which they allow margins of error so by midnight they would have received about 90% of the results or if not 100%. Based on that, they can take decision but the EC cannot have any room for margins of error. EC's result must be accurate and factual. It implies that the EC opt to have actual results and collate them before announcing. EC may have the results by midnight but by Constitution, the EC has to follow laid down procedures.

The parties have their own computerized system of collating the results. So they get to know the outcome hours before the Electoral Commission.

The political parties can allow margin of error but the EC cannot have any margin of error. EC's results must be accurate and factual. That is why EC has to receive all the specified documents before announcement is made. Moreover, for the EC, results have to be collated at the regional level before national level which creates some delays. However, the EC tries to get everything done within 72 hours. It is by law but a standard to.reduce tension.
