For SKS theres 3 type The first types because they found it while looting Second is because they want M1911 with long range capability or a cheap counter for sniper And last is people that read weapons stat a lot and realize this things is good cheap weapon for killing armored player

when scrap piles were the main source of income and reliable weaponry the sks and tommy guns were the best drops in the game cause they were 1. good weapons in general 2. it was pre-salvage nerf so you could find fully loaded weapons and sell them for around same price as buy and 3. new players would help eachother out in junkyard and share the loot to maximize profits and distribute all the other scraps and pistols we got (thanks yall who helped me)

G18 users usually have unironically cracked aim to be honest. If you suck, you're not gonna use a G18 because you've only got like a second of time before your mag is empty. SKS also lowkey kinda cracked. Crazy low recoil (literally just vertical), good capacity. Even easier to spam kill at medium range than M1911.
