@whee in jung That's definitely what I thought, she's collaborated with so many people and groups (even Monsta X), maybe she doesn't want to put out too much so when she releases a solo song it actually means something. :) And we saw her in secret unnies, she was super shy, maybe she just doesn't want to be on variety shows alone.

I admire the talents of each individual member of MAMAMOO, as well how they blend their talents as a unit. They each bring something different and it is hard to imagine MAMAMOO without each of their special contributions. I will say, however, that after watching several of Wheein's side performances, I am starting to believe it is she who is the driving force and the key contributor to their excellence. It doesn't matter with whom she is paired, which genre, or what type of venue - this girl just slays every time. The range and color of her voice, her energy, her stage presence, her harmonies, her nearly perfect pitch, her body movements, her ability to emote and relate to the audience - it's all there. There is something special about Wheein.

Daniel Contento Your comment has expressed exactly my thoughts on our beautiful Wheein. It made me tear up. Often I feel as if she is overshadowed by her other members. Her job in the group isn't as flashy as rapping, or high notes or adlibs. Her voice is the foundation of Mamamoo's songs so, she is frequently overlooked. You have to really listen to actually notice her sometimes. I'm glad now she is receiving the recognition she's so deserves. 😢

Oh! You did not know? Mamamoo CEO said WheeIn is the backbone of Mamamoo that's why if you notice she always support each member in singing specially Solar did you notice how talented she is excellent in everything. Solar takes care of high notes, Moonbyul calm them/neutralize them as we know they fool around and Hwasa give color/Spice to the group. I don't think she is over shadow as you notice she grab everyone from their bias including me.

휘인이는 고음을 할 때 굉장히 절제되어있다는 느낌을 받는데 절제되어있어서 더 애절하고 섬세하게 느껴진다. 휘인이는 음색 자체가 너무 좋아서 음색이 귀에 먼저 들어오는 데다가 용 성량이 좋아가지고 성량이 살짝 묻히는 감이 없잖아 있었는데 사실 휘니는 성량도 오짐,,, 고음에서 섬세한 기교를 기가 막히게 쓰는데 베이스 자체가 탄탄해서 저음할 때도 진짜 사람 디짐,,, 슬픈 노래든 기쁜 노래든 따뜻한 노래든 뭐든지 다 잘해,,, 노래만 잘하는 거 아니고 춤선은 진심 사람 죽여요,,, 도라방구ㅜㅜ 결론은 어디서 저런 말랑콩떡존잘아기멈머가 튀어나왔냐는 것,,,

There's really no point of using whistle if they can't use it for a more emotional impact like Mariah did. Plus it's not healthy to vocal chords that's why classical opera singers are against it. On the other hand, head voice is more 'connected' and is the healthier approach especially for vocal longevity and that's exactly what Wheein is using.

I really love this...usually singers force their high notes but they naturally hit it because of the emotion while singing the song. WheeIn's partner really have a great voice but i must appreciate WheeIn. It's hard to be the second voice and wheein's control over her voice plus her low and high notes is pleasant to your ears then the emotion they put in the song is not exaggerated just enough for the song.

yujahri totally agree, i been in K-pop world for about 3 years, i liked some groups BUT i got major goosebumps with mamamoo, at that moment i realized i found the group to Stan, then i check weekly Idol and was so chocked that they werent like other gg who are all quiet , i LOVED THEM ON THE spot... they are not afraid to laugh without covering their mouth, they are talented af, and beautiful, the whole package. ChrisBrengel Hyorin was a part of sistar (which disbanded now she is a soloist). I believe at the time this was released Chungha and Somi were in ioi. ioi disbanded after a year of promotions since it was a year since they were top 11 in produce101. Chungha is now a soloist but I believe somi hasn’t debuted yet.

She felt like she wasn't any special because she was able to blend in the background, no unique qualities in her voice. But it became her strength aftet their debut. @@henrytenden wheein was really sick here tho? well she often gets sick and still performs perfectly. It's not her fault mmm are being overworked. You know it's harder to sing and to control your notes when you're sick and you often get dehydrated too so it hurts your throat and dries up your mouth. The fact that lots of them are still singing despite being sick and still hitting the right notes is commendable.
