Are satellite links still used I was under the impression that you can use high speed data cables to send whatever it is you want to send

Yes, sat trucks are still used. Sometimes as a backup path, sometimes as primary transmission. Not every TV station has the gear to receive a data feed.

@@maverick4220 just the video rack is at least double that without the van, audio stuff or IO pannel. This is a high 6 figure project probably 7, looked into one for a company I used to work for and that is when I realised 'if you have to ask it's too much'
